Anderson University’s Writing Center guides students from the first outline to the final edits of their writing assignments. The tutoring staff is made up of students who have received high marks in English and composition courses and have been recommended by professors.
Students of all writing skills are welcome to visit our tutors and make papers even better. English language learners are also encouraged to stop by.
Drop in or sign up
Visiting the Writing Center doesn’t require an appointment. Students can bring their assignments to the Writing Center anytime during drop-in hours and receive help from one of our tutors. However, students can also log onto WC Online: https://anderson.mywconline.com to schedule a 30-minute session with one of the center’s tutors if they prefer. All assignments welcome
Any and all writing assignments are welcome at the Writing Center. Students can bring in papers in English, history, and even cover letters and resumes.Draft-based strategy
The Writing Center takes a draft-based approach to helping with assignments: early-stage draft, mid-stage draft, and late-stage draft. An early-stage draft focuses on outlining the writing assignment, and how to best answer the question the assignment asks. A mid-stage draft still needs more examples and a stronger argument. A late-stage draft is almost ready to be passed in: all that’s needed is to go over spelling, grammar, punctuation, and word choice.Location and hours
The Writing Center is located in Watkins 140 on AU’s main campus and is open for drop-in tutoring Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.Contact
For more information, students can contact the center’s director, Cari Brooks, at email@example.com.
