The gentlemen pictured here in front of the Thrift Library on the campus of Anderson University comprise the first members of the College of Education Call Me MISTER program. The purpose of the Call Me MISTER program is to recruit African American males to enter the field of elementary education to be character models for young learners who might not otherwise have someone in their lives who serves in that role. These men have heeded the calling to be involved in the will of God in public schools to impact young lives in a positive way. All of these men believe that all students can learn, regardless of circumstances that others may deem as prohibitive to that end. The mentor for these men is Dr. Beverly McAdams, the Associate Vice President for Student Development.
