Teaching Fellows Host 750 Children during Storytelling Fest

StorytellingNationally performing and recording storyteller Lynn Ruehlmann entertained about 750 local school children on campus Oct. 15-19, 2012, during the Annual Starburst Storytelling Festival, which the Teaching Fellows sponsored with the Friends of the Anderson County Library.

The Teaching Fellows served as escorts of the 7- to 10-year-old students from eight local elementary schools throughout the weeklong festival.

Ruehlmann, who uses her energetic and entertaining style to transport listeners back in time through myths, folktales, and stories about people she’s known, has won awards from the Parents’ Choice Awards and the journal Storytelling World. She also has performed at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C., and with members of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra.
