Evening/Online Financial Aid

Thanks for you interest in the ACCEL Evening/Online Programs at Anderson University. ACCEL students are eligible to receive federal and state funds. For consideration of these funds, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by May 1st of each year. FAFSA information is listed below. All ACCEL students receive a tuition discount, which makes them ineligible for institutional scholarships. The information below shows the various types of funds available to ACCEL students.  You can also use our ACCEL Cost Worksheet to calculate your estimated cost to attend.

Federal Funds

Pell Grant: A federally funded grant based on need determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Awards are based on the amount of hours the student enrolls.  Maximum award is $5,550 per year.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG): A federally funded source of gift aid awarded to students with the most need. Funding is very limited and the Financial Aid Office makes award selections. Maximum award $1,000 per year.

Perkins Loan: A federally funded program that is offered to students who demonstrate great need. Students must have at least 2.0 cumulative GPA. Since funding is limited, not all qualified students can be offered this loan. Repayment (at least $40 per month) and interest (at 5%) are deferred until 9 months after the student ceases to be enrolled on at least a half-time basis at any institution. Maximum award is $4,000 per year.

Stafford Loan: There are two types of Federal Stafford Loans - subsidized and unsubsidized. The government pays the interest on subsidized loans because they are need based. Unsubsidized loans accrue interest from the point of disbursement. We encourage our students to pay the interest while they are in school. There are no penalties for payments on your loan early.  Repayment and interest begin six months after the student ceases to be enrolled. All students who enroll at least half-time (6 hours) and are not currently in default on another student loan qualify, regardless of their credit.  Maximum amounts are determined by grade level. Amounts can range from $3,500 to $12,500 per year.
