Assistant Professor of Education/Coordinator of Education Field Partnerships
Anderson University and its College of Education invite applications for a full-time position as Assistant Professor of Education/Coordinator of Education Field Partnerships. This 10-month position begins August 2013 with eligibility for annual reappointment with the possibility of later tenure-track appointment. Anderson University is a comprehensive, liberal arts institution affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The successful candidate must be a dynamic, creative individual committed to teaching excellence in the context of best practices and serving to enrich an innovative and growing program with a strong reputation across the region. Responsibilities include working with school districts with which the College of Education has articulation agreements in the placement of teacher candidates completing field experiences and the Clinical Experience. The applicant must be familiar with best practices for the classroom that serve as a basis for weekly seminars held with Clinical Experience teacher candidates. The successful candidate must also collaborate with current faculty and participate in student advising. As well, the candidate must be highly organized and exhibit exemplary oral and written communication skills.
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master degree and three years of public school teaching experience. NCATE experience preferred and familiarity with NCATE transition to CAEP. Familiarity with the South Carolina teacher assessment instrument, ADEPT/SAFE-T, preferred.
