ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF NURSING
Anderson University and its School of Nursing invite applications for a full-time, 12-month position as Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing. Position to begin June 1, 2013 and is eligible for annual reappointment with the possibility of later tenure-track appointment. Anderson University is a comprehensive, liberal arts institution affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Candidates’ nursing practice or teaching experience will guide instructional area taught. The candidate should be prepared to teach throughout appropriate areas of the undergraduate nursing curriculum and include the ability to implement theoretical and/or clinical instruction within the courses taught. Candidates with experience teaching in support of an undergraduate nursing program, especially within pediatrics, medical-surgical, and critical care are preferred. The successful candidate will also advise students, supervise clinical experiences, actively recruit prospective students, participate in faculty service, and attend required departmental and University events. Additional responsibilities include online and/or classroom teaching, and establishing and maintaining relationships and partnerships in the health care community and community organizations to enhance program and student opportunities. Candidates should have the desire to positively impact students by demonstrating a Christ-centered and person-focused professional nurse role model of teacher, mentor, advocate, practitioner, collaborator, researcher, and resource person.
Earned degree from a regionally accredited institution that is appropriate for area of teaching is required. Master of Science in Nursing is the minimum requirement with a terminal doctorate degree preferred. Successful candidate must possess an active, unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the state of South Carolina.
