American Mathematical Society - Browse AMS books by author or subject. - A large collection of online books that offers unlimited access to literature, reference, and verse. 

The British Columbia Digital Library - List of guides for ebooks, promotional aids, standards, and software.

British Library- Turning the Pages Online Gallery - A website that stimulates the action of page turning with shockwave plug-in.  Includes text, archival forms, books, manuscripts, maps, newspaper, magazines, patents, musical scores, sound recordings, photographs, and stamps.

Children’s Books Online - A large collection of illustrated antique books.  New books and translations are added each week.
Added Feb. 2012- Children's Online Reading Guide- A listing of resources for parents, teachers, students, and children to help make reading an enjoyable experience for all.  Includes tips for helping your child learn, writing tips, children's stories online, and information on famous authors of children's books.  (Submitted by Bethany from Ms. Elizabeth Massingill's class at Brighter Futures Charter School)
Children’s Storybooks Online - A collection of online books for children that includes rare books, grants, teacher resources, phonics, home schooling, puzzles, riddles, mazes, coloring books, and games.

Christian Classics Ethereal Library - The purpose of this site is to build up the church by making classic Christian writings available and also to promote use.

The eBook Directory - Offers a large directory of free downloadable ebooks online.  Browse by categories or search.
Added Sept. 2011 - eBooks@Adelaide – (From the University of Adelaide, Australia) This site contains a large and growing selection of public domain eBooks. While these titles could be found on a variety of other sites such as Project Gutenberg, Adelaide has reformatted the titles to make them both easy to find an easy to read. Downloading is free, but can only be done one chapter at a time. NOTE: Due to the fact that Adelaide has chosen to embed the search engine in its Facebook page, navigation may be confusing. Be sure to click on the Search Box located in the middle, top of the screen.

Electronic Text Center - A collection of over 2100 publically available ebooks from University of Virginia’s etext center.  Includes a wide variety of literature.

Google Book Search - This site allows you to search full-text of books , browse books online, and buy or borrow books from a library.

International Children’s Digital Library - This site offers a collection of digital books for children that represent historical and contemporary books from throughout the world.

Internet Archive: Text Archive - An open access text archive that is open to the community for contributions of any text type.  Site was founded to build an Internet library with purpose of offering permanent access for researchers, historians, and scholars to historical collections that exist in digital format.

Internet Public Library - A large directory of online books.

National Academic Press - A site that offers over 3,700 online free books.  Users may search, read, download, and order from the site.

The Online Books Page - Lists over 25,000 free books on the web.
Added Oct., 2011 - Online College Classes – “A FREE compendium of educational multimedia content from around the web” suitable for both students and faculty. Includes online classes, open courseware, textbooks / eBooks, videos, podcasts, language, archives and directories, and research and writing.
Project Guttenberg - A collection of over 20,000 free books in Project Guttenberg.  This site offers one of the first and largest single collection of free electronic books and strives to use the latest technology.  Collection includes audio books, CD/DVD project, as well as digitized sheet music.(Tutorial)

Smithsonian Institution: Contributions and Studies Series - A collection of full-text books from the Smithsonian Institution.

Women Working 1800-1930 - From the Open Collections Program, a collection that focuses on women’s roles in the US economy and provides access to digitized historical, manuscript, and image resources selected from Harvard University’s library and museum collection.

World Public Library - The world’s largest digital archive of PDF ebooks and edocuments.  Offers a collection of more than 500,000 ebooks and edocuments.

Digital Book Index - A union catalog of electronic books, texts, and documents.  A large library of electronic books.  Site provides links to more than 139,000 full-text digital books free.

Librivox - This site provides free audio books from the public domain and strives to make all public domain books available as free audio books.

Project Gutenberg: Audio Books Project - This site makes audio ebooks available for some of the same great literature available in plain text.  Books are human read and computer generated.
