The Thrift Library
With 82,000 books and 350,000 ebooks—in addition to 2,300 movies in-house and another 12,000 online—Thrift Library is the educational hub of AU's campus. Its collection is carefully selected through the combined efforts of faculty members, students, and librarians, resulting in works that are scholarly and reliable. A growing digital collection is also accessible from any location at any hour of the day.
Borrow books through the end of the semester
Regular circulating books can be checked out for three-week intervals and are renewable until the end of the semester. Movies can be checked out for three days.
Borrow video cameras
In addition to books and movies, video cameras can be borrowed from the library for class projects. Depending on the copyrights of the ebook, an ebook may be downloaded permanently or accessed online. Students are limited to borrowing ten library items at one time.
Visitors can enjoy art throughout the library and access to the university's archives, which includes historically significant photographs, artwork, letters, and furniture. A restaurant and café are located in the basement alongside a computer lab, ensuring students don't have to travel far for a bite to eat. Food and drinks (with the exception of water) are not permitted on the main two floors.
