Includes indexing to 14,000 journals and full text access to 5,000 titles. Provides extensive coverage of the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature, and other subjects.  It has a strong news component with coverage of the New York Times from 1985 to present as well as access to hundreds of podcasts, audio, video and transcripts from sources such as NPR, CNN, and CBC (Canadian Broadcast Corporation).

Academic Search Premier (Ebsco)  
Covers all topics. Indexes over 8,500 titles with Full Text for nearly 4,600. Some titles go back to 1975. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for over one hundred journals!  The library’s largest database!

Aera SIG Communication of Research

A repository of more than a million digital images and related data along with the tools to store, organize, and use those images. Contains, painting, sculpture, photographs, buildings, decorative arts, fashion, landscape, graphic design, architectural drawings, manuscripts, performance art, and floor plans, and more. Images are licensed for use within an educational context and can be included in classroom power point presentations.

ATLAS Religion Database (Ebsco)

This database offers outstanding research support with nearly a million biographical entries spanning history and geography.  It is also a curriculum-aligned resource that offers media rich content in context that is updated daily to meet the needs of today's user.  The database includes 600,000+ biographies covering more than 525,000 individuals, 170+ award winning Gale reference titles, integrated reference material, periodical information, and multimedia content, and hundreds of hand-crafted topic pages covering the highest interest features.  In addition, the In Context edition offers a new collection of biographies from Lives & Perspectives which offers first time ever access to 160,000 biographies. 

Bioline International 
Contains dozens of full text bio-science journals from all over the world. Major topics include biotechnology, biodiversity, environmental, and ecological sciences.  The web site allows searching by topic.

BioMedSearch
A free biomedical search engine that contains NIH/PubMed documents, as well as a large collection of theses, dissertations, and other publications for free.  The database also provides advanced account features that allow saved searches, alerts, and sharing documents with other registered users.  Though full text is available, this site works primarily as an index, and the content identified can often be found through other databases, google scholar, or InterLibrary Loan.

Book Review Index Online Plus (Gale)
Containing the entire backfile of Book Review Index print content from 1965 to the present, Book Review Index Online is unparalleled in scope, with more than 5.6 million reviews on more than 2.5 million titles. Britannica Online School Edition K-12  (Gale)
An edition of Britannica Online aimed at elementary through high school aged students.  Offers encyclpedias and related materials for studnets of all levels.  Users can also take advantage of the Learning Materials, a collection of educational exercises, activities, and study guides.

Britannica Spanish Encyclopedia, Enciclopedia Juvenil  (Gale)
Enciclopedia Juvenil provides a Spanish elementary encyclopedia, images, videos, and Spanish language learning materials specifically designed for younger learners.

Britannica World Data Analyst (Gale)
Resource for retrieving, comparing, ranking, and customizing data on the world's nations.  Country snapshots feature provides statistics that include maps, area, population, demographics, gross national product, and more.  County comparisons offer tools for creating comparison tables and graphs using either recent or historical statistics.

Business and Company Resource Center with PROMT and Newsletters (Gale)  
Business and Company Resource Center is a fully integrated resource bringing together company profiles, brand information, rankings, one million investment and other reports, company histories, S.W.O.T. Analyses, chronologies and 400 full text periodicals from 1980 on. Predicast's PROMT and Newsletter databases are fully integrated in this database. Search this database to find detailed company and industry news and information.

CINAHL Plus with Full Text (Ebsco)
CINAHL Plus with Full Text is the world's most comprehensive source of full text for nursing & allied health journals, providing full text for more than 770 journals indexed in CINAHL.  This authoritative file contains full text for many of the most used journals in the CINAHL index- with no embargo.  CINAHL Plus with Full Text is the definitive research tool for all areas of nursing and allied health literature.

Communication & Mass Media Complete
Offers cover-to-cover indexing and abstracts for more than 550 journals, and selected ("priority") coverage of nearly 200 more, for a combined coverage of 737 titles. Furthermore, this database includes full text for over 440 journals dating as far back as 1915. Creativity  Password Required
Formerly a monthly magazine, this website covers all things creative in advertising and design.  This site highlights ad campaigns from around the world and strives to promote the ideas and talent behind them.

Credo Reference 
Formerly xReferPlus, Credo Reference is areference source that includes more than 450 encyclopedias, 200,000 graphic images, and 100,000 audio pronunciation files and sound clips. You may search titles individually, all at once, by major subject categories, or in any combination. Provides citation examples for APA, MLA and Chicago style at the bottom of every record.

Criminal Justice Periodicals (ProQuest)
CJPI can provide information on virtually any criminal justice topic, including corrections administration, law enforcement, social work, industrial security, drug rehabilitation, and criminal and family law. The database offers ASCII text, image, and Text+Graphics coverage for about 80 of the titles most frequently accessed by criminal justice researchers. CJPI also include complete indexing and abstracts for another 150 relevant U.S. and international journals from 1981 on.

CultureGrams (Gale) 
This resource contains cultural reports on the countries of the world, United States, and Canadian Provinces for grades 4-12.  Supporting materials includes a photo gallery, recipes, and biographies.  You can view flags, maps, slideshows, national anthems, and video clips.

Educator's Reference Complete (Gale) 
This powerful database covers multiple levels of education from preschool to college and includes every educational specialty, such as bilingual studies, health, technology and testing. More than 1,100 periodicals are covered including nearly half of the journal titles found in ERIC as well as 200 reports from the United States Department of Education.

Ferguson's Career Guidance Center
A career research database with its job and industry profiles section providing information on nearly 3,400 jobs and 94 industries, broken down into 16 career clusters created by the Department of Education.  These profiles are presented through overview articles and videos.  The Career and Industry Resources section includes more than 55,000 entries on scholarships, internships, and more divided into easily browsable categories with searchable records.

Highwire Press 
A free journal repository sponsored by Stanford University Libraries.  The site contains indexing to 1,200 titles and almost 400 free full text articles on a wide variety of scientific topics.  (The other articles are pay per view).  The journals range in topics from biology and medicine to physical and social science and comprise over 1,000 journals.

Historical New York Times (1851-2006) (ProQuest)
This full text database provides access to the complete content of the New York Times from 1851 to 2004. Use General OneFile  for New York Times after that date.

A collection of high quality interdisciplinary content to support scholarship and teaching.  With more than a thousand academic journals and over 1 million images, letters, and other primary sources, JSTOR is one of the world's most trusted sources for academic content.  JSTOR offers academic journals from the humanities, social sciences, science, as well as select  monographs and other materials.  Although the Thrift Library does not subscribe to JSTOR, free full text access to over 200 journals published before 1923 in the United States and before 1870 outside of the United States, is now available.  This translates into 500,000 full text historical articles.  (Please be sure to limit your search to ONLY CONTENT I CAN ACCESS to find these articles.)  In addition to this free full text, this link is an index to all of the JSTOR content.

Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts (Ebsco)
(LISTA) indexes more than 600 periodicals, plus books, research reports and proceedings. Subject coverage includes librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more. Coverage in the database extends back as far as the mid-1960s.

Science In Context provides reference and periodical content on topics such as Life Science, Physical Science, Earth, and Space Science.  The database contains more than 30 reference titles and more than 300 periodical titles.  Multimedia content is also available, as well as content correlated to national and state high school curriculum standards.

Scirus
Scirus is an excellent source for acquiring scientific information, especially for interlibrary loan purposes.  Scirus contains materials from a number of sources, including journals, databases, and governmental entities.  Being associated with Anderson University, students will always have access to information on Scirus from PubMed Central and the Institute of Physics databases, as well as some governmental sources.  Full text articles are not availabe to most of the articles available through other databases, like Science Direct; however, by searching Scirus, relevant articles can be identified that can be requested through interlibrary loan.  One word of warning: attempting to print an article that it is not available full text through the Anderson University Library will prompt a payment request.  Please do not- it can be requested through interlibrary loan at no cost.
