Anderson University, a four-year, co-educational, comprehensive university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention, welcomes students from a variety of denominations, educational and cultural backgrounds.

Located in the Upstate region of South Carolina, the city of Anderson has been recognized as the “Friendliest City in South Carolina.” Anderson is a regional destination city for shopping and dining, as well as outdoor sports at nearby Lake Hartwell and the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Located less than 30 minutes from downtown Greenville and two hours from Atlanta and Charlotte, Anderson students have easy access to vibrant professional, cultural and recreational opportunities, and are within driving distance of South Carolina’s beaches.
We welcome almost 3,000 students from 31 states, 15 foreign countries and a wide range of denominations. Fourteen percent of our students are ethnic minorities. Approximately 70 percent of students live on campus. Sixty eight percent of new AU students graduate from Anderson University.
Our students engage in 10 college-sponsored mission trips each year, while AU students and employees contribute an average of 14,000 hours of local community service per year.
Anderson University has been recognized as one of the most affordable universities in the South. In recent years, U.S. News & World Report ranked Anderson University among the top 11 universities (public and private) in the South for students accumulating the least educational debt. For the 2012-13 year, 99 percent of students received financial aid with an average award of $23,666.

Anderson University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral degrees. Professional accreditation includes the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
