Professor To Present Voice Recital
Anderson University’s vocal instructor Deedy Francis will present a faculty voice recital on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 8 p.m. in the Daniel Recital Hall of the Rainey Fine Arts Center on the Anderson University campus.
The program will include Franz Schubert’s The Shepherd on the Rock for soprano, clarinet, and voice; The Sun is Love, a song cycle by American composer Gwyneth Walker featuring the poetry of Jelaluddin Rumi; a set of American folk songs arranged specifically for this program by Lyman Golden for voice and guitar, a set of American Jazz standards from the 1930s and 1940s by George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Morgan Lewis, and Harold Arlen featuring a jazz combo.
The public is invited to attend and admission is free.
