Five AU alumni were inducted into Anderson University’s Gallery of Distinguished Alumni on May 7 at the awards ceremony in the Vandiver Gallery of the Thrift Library on the Anderson University campus. Honorees included Alpheaus B. Anderson ’05, from Easley, the founder of ABA Ministries, musician and producer for Music2ChangeU Records; Gary T. Bailey ’01, of Ware Shoals, chief financial officer of The New Image Group; Jeffrey L. Deal “74, from Charleston, physician and biocultural anthropologist, director of health research at Water Missions International; Linda B. Gambrell ’62, of Belton, distinguished professor of education, Eugene T. Moore School of Education, Clemson University; and Jill Strickland ’94, of Anderson, artist and owner of Strickland Fine Art.
The Gallery recognizes outstanding alumni who exemplify the educational philosophy and values of Anderson University. “It’s an honor to be able to recognize our alumni who are doing great things in their professions and making this world a better place in which to live,” said Chad Nelms, director of alumni relations. “The alumni represented in this Gallery send a clear message about the quality of an Anderson University education.”
Recipients are selected by the AU Alumni Board of Directors and nomination committee in conjunction with the Office of Institutional Advancement. Photographs of each of this year’s recipients will hang in the Martin Dining Room in the Merritt Administration Building.
