Economic
Summit to be held at Anderson University
On Friday, April 16, Anderson University’s Center
for Finance and Economics will co-sponsor an Economic Summit to discuss the current
U.S. economic situation and its impact on South Carolina. The event will be
held in Anderson University’s Daniel Recital Hall from 10:00-11:15 am and will
be co-sponsored by the investment advising firm of McDonald, Cox & Klugh.
The theme of the Economic Summit is “Economic Recovery in South Carolina.”
The event will feature four speakers:
Don Robinson, Chief Investment Officer at Lockwood Capital; Shae Rozakos,
Existing Industries Manager with Anderson County Economic Development; Miren
Ivankovic, Associate Professor of Economics and Finance at Anderson University;
and Jim Fields, Executive Director of the Palmetto Institute.
Along with the local, state, and
national economic picture, topics covered will include strategies for
stimulating sustainable economic growth and personal wealth generation
strategies for an uncertain economic environment.
“We know that many people are concerned
about the current economic environment, not only across the country, but also
in the upstate,” said Gordon Smith, Assistant Professor of Economics at
Anderson University. “The Economic Summit represents an opportunity for individuals to
become better informed about the variables affecting our economy and the impact
of those variables on future economic stability and growth.”
The event is free to the public,
