Anderson University Welcomes Acclaimed Author Dr. Robert Benne
On Thursday, August 12, Anderson University will host a public lecture featuring Dr. Robert Benne, one of the nation’s leading scholars on the topic of Christian higher education. The lecture topic will be “What Does it Mean to be a Christian College or University?” The event, taking place at 6:30 pm in the Daniel Recital Hall of AU’s Rainey Fine Arts Center, is part of AU’s centennial celebration.
Dr. Robert Benne is the Director of the Center for Religion and Society at Roanoke College. He is a leading figure in Christian ethics and social thought. Dr. Benne has a B.A. from Midland Lutheran College, M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, and post-graduate study at Hamberg and Cambridge Universities. He has authored ten books, including Quality with Soul: How Six Premier Colleges and Universities Keep Faith with Their Religious Traditions.
