Anderson University to Host Playwriting Workshop with Scott
Kirk
Anderson University invites the community to
attend a playwriting workshop by Chicago playwright Scott Kirk on Friday,
September 24 from 3:30 pm-6:30 pm and on Saturday, September 25 from 9:30 am-
12:30 pm in the Merritt Theatre of AU’s Merritt Administration Building.
Scott
Kirk is the writer of The Denmark Story, a
celebration of the life of former Anderson University President Annie Dove
Denmark, the longest-serving AU president and the first female college
president in South Carolina. The Denmark
Story will be presented in AU’s Daniel Recital Hall September 24th and 25th. The Denmark Story is a free, ticketed
event. Tickets can be obtained by calling the Anderson University box office at

Mr.
Kirk is an award winning actor, director, and writer who resides in
the western suburbs of Chicago. His professional playwriting career includes stints as Artistic Director for
Saltworks Theatre Company in Pittsburgh, Creative Arts Director for Christ
Community Church in Chicago, and Professor at Judson University in Illinois. He is
passionate about the creative process and connecting people with opportunities
that enable them to fulfill their God-given purpose in life.
