AU PUTS AWARD WINNING CERAMIC ART ON SALE FOR CHRISTMAS
December 7th sale to feature student and faculty
original pottery
In a
Christmas version of the extremely popular spring ceramic sale, Anderson
University art students and faculty are giving the public a chance to purchase
original bowls, mugs, plates and sculptures for the Christmas season on
December 7th from 9am – 4pm at the Belk Theatre of the Rainey Fine
Arts Center.
A portion of the
proceeds from the sale will go to benefit the AU Art Education Club’s annual
“Christmas for Children” project, with other proceeds going towards needed art
equipment for the AU art program.“We have had a
number of requests to put on a sale prior to Christmas,” says AU Art Professor
Nathan Cox. “There’s no better gift for the ‘person who has everything’ than
original, one-of-a-kind artwork. And best of all, it is affordable and
functional.”
While the popular
sale inevitably draws crowds of “early birds” looking for the best pieces, new
works will be put on sale throughout the day guaranteeing a good selection up
until 4pm.
