Best-selling Author to Visit Anderson University
The Secret Life of Bees author Sue Monk Kidd visits in Centennial event
Anderson University, as a part of the
centennial celebration of its founding, is presenting An Evening With Author Sue Monk Kidd on Tuesday, March 29th at 7pm in Henderson Auditorium of the
Rainey Fine Arts Center. The
Secret Life of Bees is Sue Monk Kidd’s bestselling novel about race,
gender, folklore, religion, and ethics in South Carolina in the 1960’s. AU
professors will lead a discussion on the novel at the Anderson County Library
on March 27, 2011 at 3pm. Ms. Kidd began her writing
career at Anderson University. Her lecture on the 29th is free and
the public is cordially invited. The series will conclude with a showing of the
film, The Secret Life of Bees, followed by a discussion led by an AU
professor at the Library on April 3,
2011 at 3pm. This series has been supported by a major grant from the
Humanities Council of South Carolina.
