Anderson University Dominates Local
Addy Awards
As a further testament to Anderson
University’s outstanding graphic design program, AU design students won 13 of
the 17 student awards (including Best of Show) presented at this year’s AAF
(American Advertising Federation)-Greenville Annual ADDY Awards. The ceremony
was held on Saturday, February 16 at the Embassy Suites in Greenville.
The
following Anderson design students captured awards at the event:

Cooper- Russell, KY, Senior- Gold ADDY
- Heather
McIlrath- Myrtle Beach, SC, Sophomore- Gold ADDY

Ganahl- Anderson, SC, Senior - 2 Silver ADDYs
- Hannah
Leonard- Greensboro, NC, Senior – 2 Silver ADDYs
- Kelly
Johnson- Aiken, SC, Senior – 2 Silver ADDYs

Belger- North Augusta, SC, Senior – Silver ADDY

McKinnish- Spartanburg, SC, Senior - Silver ADDY
According
to the AAF website, the student ADDY Awards is sponsored by the
AAF and National Ad 2 and occurs in conjunction with the prestigious ADDY
awards. Student ADDYs recognize and reward creative excellence by students, and
like the professional ADDYS, the student ADDY awards is also a three-tier
national competition. All across the country, local entrants vie for
recognition as the very best in their markets. At the second tier, local
winners compete against other winners in one of 14 district competitions.
District winners
are
then forwarded to the third tier, the national ADDY Awards competition.
Since
the introduction of Student ADDYs three years ago, Anderson University has
dominated the local competition including an entire sweep of the awards two
years ago. Additionally, AU designers have won multiple national awards on two
occasions including last year’s Best of
Show.
Anderson University is a comprehensive university affiliated
with the South Carolina Baptist Convention offering bachelors and masters
degrees. Anderson is ranked in the Top Tier (top 21) of colleges and
universities in the South, and one of 68 “Up and
Coming” schools to watch in America,”
by U. S. News & World Report. It is the #1 “Up and Coming” school in The
South according to that publication.
