AU PUTS AWARD-WINNING CERAMIC ART ON SALE
April 29-30th sale to feature student and faculty original
pottery
The Ceramics Artists of Anderson University
will hold their Annual Pottery Sale on Friday, April 29th from 9:00 am-4:00 pm and Saturday, April 30th from 9:00 am-2:00 pm in the Studio Courtyard behind the Rainey Fine Arts Center on AU’s main campus
featuring one-of-a-kind pieces that are both beautiful and functional.
The
spring sale will give the public a chance to purchase original bowls, mugs,
plates, and sculptures created by AU art students and faculty. Each year the
sale is a wildly successful event, breaking the previous year’s sales records.
Proceeds from the sale will
go toward funding educational trips and purchasing studio equipment. Earlier
this year AU art students also donated $1000 to the AU Art Department’s annual
Christmas for Children project, which is organized by AU’s Art Education Club.
“We
have a growing base of loyal customers from outside the campus community,” says
AU Art Professor Nathan Cox. “But, we’re hoping to try to make even more art
lovers of the Upstate aware of the sale and work taking place here at AU.”
While
the popular sale inevitably draws crowds of “early birds” looking for the best
pieces, new works will be put on sale throughout the day guaranteeing a good
selection up until 2:00 pm.
