AU INTERIOR DESIGN STUDENTS WIN DESIGN EXCELLENCE AWARDS
On May 26 - June 17, 2011, Steelcase Corporate Development
Center, Grand Rapids will host Three (3) School of Interior Design Students for
having been selected from a panel of external Design Professionals for their
Design Excellence.
The students were charged with
designing a Steelcase Furniture Dealership of the Future to be located in
Greenville, SC.
The Design professionals who
served as Jurors selected the following students’
1st place: Anna Peek
2nd place: Samantha Welcome
Honorable Mention: Nicole Parnell
These students will travel to
Grand Rapids, Michigan on the Steelcase Corporate Jet. They will meet the
“Futurist Designers, Furniture Designers, and Engineers” at the Research and
Development Center. Visit all of the Steelcase Campus to include: Steelcase
University and Steelcase Facilities.
The Corporate Chef will prepare
Dinner while students dine in the Frank Lloyd Wright designed home, the Meyer
May House, which is a museum owned by Steelcase. Hotel and all meals will be
taken care of by Steelcase.
