AU Graphic Design Students Excel on National Level
Anderson University seniors Caryn Karriker
and Rachel Spoon were recently recognized for excellence in graphic design at
the Flux National Competition held in Washington, D.C. Winners were
selected from the top student graphic designers in the country from highly
ranked colleges and universities.
AIGA
is the most universally respected and recognized professional graphic design
association in the country. The AIGA Blueridge competition garners prestige
because it is a national competition, unlike other contests that feature local
and regional awards. Additionally, winners are selected by AIGA members, who
are recognized as leaders in the professional design community. This year’s
contest was the organization’s fourth annual competition.
Caryn
Karriker was recognized for her Penguin Book Series and Rachel Spoon won for
her Design History DVD Packaging. All entries can be found at http://flux.aigablueridge.org/.
Dr.
Timothy Speaker, Assistant Professor of Art at AU said, “To win several awards at the
AIGA National Flux awards is a wondrous blessing. These extremely prestigious
accolades attained at the highest level speak to the unyielding desire for
excellence by our students in the Graphic Design concentration. These
recognitions serve as tangible reminders of what can be achieved through the
hard work, talent, and perseverance of our students, as well as the tireless
efforts of our Art Faculty to drive our students to achieve their very finest
work.”
