AU Lifelong Learning Announces March Programming
Registration is now underway for
all AU Lifelong Learning programs including:
“Great Decisions 2011”
Since
1954, the Foreign Policy Association’s “Great Decisions” program has brought
millions of Americans together to talk about the most pressing international issues
of the day. Using the FPA Briefing Books
and DVD as a guide, the six topics for discussion this spring are: Middle East
realignment; Exit from Afghanistan & Iraq; State of the Oceans; Indonesia;
Energy Geopolitics; and Mexico. Six-week program meets
Tuesday afternoons beginning Feb 28.
“Drawing for the Non-Artist”
We
will develop a comfort level with using basic drawing materials, learn some
drawing skills, create some art and have fun along the way. All you need is an
open mind and a willingness to give it a try. Six-week program begins March 13. “Drawing
for the Non-Artist” is full and closed. Please contact the LLI office to get on
list for the next class.
“Mother Savannah: Savannah
River History to the Present”
The
Savannah River, which forms the border between South Carolina and Georgia, has
been called the “Birthgiver of Upstate SC History.”
LLI
is proud to announce another program that will bring together historians and
researchers sharing their unforgettable pictures and stories of slavery and the
Civil War, King Cotton, life before Civil Rights, and the Savannah lakes.
Five-week
program meets Tuesday evenings beginning March 20.
“Flannery
O’Connor”
Mary
Flannery O’Connor, novelist, short-story writer, and essayist, was an important
voice in American literature. Please join us for a discussion focusing on the
fascinating collection of morally flawed characters that populate O’Connor’s
well-known short stories. Two-week program meets Wednesday afternoons beginning
March 28.
