AU to Host
Southeast Conference on Christianity and Literature
Anderson University is pleased to announce
that it will host the Southeast Conference on Christianity and Literature April
12-14, 2012. The theme of the conference is “Manifestations and Interpretations
of God’s Grace in Literature.” The keynote speaker for the event is Dr. Ralph
Wood of Baylor University. Dr. Wood’s address, entitled “The Need to be Shot
Every Day of Our Lives; Flannery O’Connor’s ‘A Good Man is Hard to Find,’” is
part of the Mims Lecture Series and will be held at 10:10 am on Friday, April
13 in AU’s Daniel Recital Hall. The lecture will be open to the public.
Beginning on Thursday evening, April 12, and extending through
Saturday morning, April 14, twenty-one scholars from the Southeast and beyond
will present papers in six sessions.

Wooten, Professor of English at AU, stated, “We
are delighted to host this conference, which is a regional meeting of the
Conference on Christianity and Literature- a division of the Modern Language
Association, because it combines Christian faith and literary scholarship.”
