“The
unprecedented success at this year’s ADDY competition is truly an embarrassment
of riches,” stated Tim Speaker, Assistant Professor of Art, Graphic Design at
AU. “Once again, the awards are tangible evidence of the determined efforts of
our talented students at AU, as well as the determined efforts of the art faculty.
This has been a blessed year of honors.”
According
to the AAF website, the student ADDY Awards are sponsored by the
AAF (American Advertising Federation) and National Ad 2 and occur in
conjunction with the prestigious ADDY awards in professional advertising.
Student ADDYs recognize and reward creative excellence by students, and like
the professional ADDYS, the student ADDY awards are also a three-tier national
competition. All across the country, local entrants vie for recognition as the
very best in their markets. At the second tier, local winners compete against
other winners in one of 14 district competitions. District winners are
then advanced to the third tier, the national ADDY Awards competition.
