Business team earns national rank
Enactus (formerly SIFE) team wins awards at national exposition
The Anderson University Enactus (formerly SIFE or Students in Free Enterprise) team was named first runner up in its league in the general competition at the Enactus National Exposition last month. This finish places the Anderson team of business students in the top 40 (out of more than 600) in the nation.
Anderson followed a several-years-long run of award-winning community projects with another strong showing in the project partnership competitions. Anderson was named a finalist in both the Walmart Women's Economic Empowerment Project Partnership, the initiative in which AU students partner with the Women And Children Succeeding program in Anderson, South Carolina, and the Campbell's Soup Company Let's Can Hunger Project Partnership. To achieve this recognition, Anderson placed in the top 10 of approximately 100 teams in both of the competitions. Anderson Enactus received $1,000 in prize money for both.
Anderson students were recognized individually as well. Freshman Rob Battenfield presented a donor award during one of the ceremonies. Rebekah Champy participated in the Top-to-Future-Top forum, an invitation-only luncheon with Enactus partner company representatives. Incoming AU Enactus president Jennifer Price also received a national, Enactus Student Leadership Scholarship, one of just a handful to receive the grant.
