When will I receive my housing assignment?
-Students depositing by May 1st should receive a housing assignment letter by July 1st. For those students depositing after May 1st, housing assignments will be given on a rolling basis as housing applications are received. If you have submitted a housing application, but have not received an assignment, you are still in the process of being assigned and notification will be given once your assignment is completed.
What is furnished in my room?
-All rooms are furnished with a bed & mattress, desk & chair, and dresser. Each room is equipped with wireless internet and extended cable.
Will I be in a double room or triple room?
-Students are assigned in order of earliest to latest deposit date and according to building preferences. Double spaces are filled first and then all remaining students are assigned to triple spaces. Please remember that triple rooms are designated for our larger rooms on campus to ensure ample space. As a result, students assigned to the larger triple rooms will not receive housing discounts or credits.
Can I request a different assignment prior to move-in?
-Unfortunately, we are unable to make assignment changes prior to move-in. If a student would like to request a room change, they may contact our Residence Life staff after Welcome Week to discuss their situation. Room changes will be made on a case-by-case basis and only as open space allows.
Can I see my room before move-in?
-Due to summer camp occupancy, we cannot show individual rooms during the summer or prior to move-in weekend.
How can I get more information about my assigned room, its features and dimensions?
-You may visit the Residence Halls sections of the Residence Life webpage to view detailed information about each residence hall. This information provides a floor plan with dimensions as well as other pertinent information about the living area space.
How do I change my meal plan?
-If a student would like to change their meal plan, they can go to the Forms section of the Residence Life webpage to download the Meal Plan Change Form. Students can print this form and return it to our office via mail or bring it with you to Welcome Week. Students have until the 3rd day of classes each semester to choose or change their meal plan. After that date, meal plans are locked in for the semester.
What items do I need to bring for my room?
-Students may refer to our What to Bring/What Not to Bring hand-out for suggestions on items that are recommend as well as items that are prohibited. This form can be found on the Residence Life webpage.
What size sheets do I need?
-We recommend Twin XL sheets. Our mattresses are slightly longer than a standard twin.
What size refrigerator or microwave can I bring?
-Each room is allowed ONE refrigerator and ONE microwave. The refrigerator size should not exceed 3.7 cubic feet. The microwave should not exceed 1100 watts.
When can I move into my room?
-New Student Move-In Day is scheduled for Saturday, August 18th from 8:00am – 4:00pm. All new students must register at the central check-in area located in Abney Gymnasium before receiving room keys and moving into the residence halls.
*Transfer students participating in transfer orientation will be allowed to move into the residence halls on Friday, August 17th from 9:00am - 12:00pm in the Residence Life office.
