Nurse With Child 3The Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (TBSN) trains traditional college-age students to become nurses who can work in pediatric, surgical, adult, geriatric, and other fields of nursing. It prepares undergraduates to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) and become a registered nurse (RN). RNs serve in hospitals, hospices, homes, nursing homes, workplaces, schools, medical missions, the military, and other medical settings. The Institute of Medicine recommends increasing the proportion of nurses with bachelor's degrees from 50 percent to 80 percent by 2020. This bachelor's program will launch your nursing career, open the door to leadership and management positions, and qualify you for graduate-level training in nursing and healthcare.

Already have college credit or a bachelor's degree in a field other than nursing? Read about our Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN).
