Cultural Experience Program (CEP)

Successful completion in Cultural Experiences is required for graduation at Anderson University.

The purpose of The Cultural Experience Program is to enrich student's academic experience by providing co-curricular opportunities for students to grow in the knowledge and appreciate of the arts, to grow in the knowledge of components of a healthy lifestyle, and to develop knowledge that supports personal, professional, and civic growth. Programs range from fine arts events (music, theater, and art), guest speakers on a variety of topics, academic enrichment workshops, presentations on healthy lifestyles, to community awareness and service events.

Students who have received a minimum of 24 CEP credits have satisfied the CEP requirement for graduation.

What You Need to Know about the CEP transition:

There is exciting news in regards to your CEP credits. Beginning in Spring 2015, you will be able to swipe your ID card at all CEP events. This transition to an online system will require you to submit all of your past CEP events by December 3, 2014 in order to receive CEP credit.


All CEPs for all class years (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior) are due by December 3, 2014. Any CEP events that are not submitted by December 3, 2014 WILL NOT count toward your CEP total for graduation. Please make sure you follow the process for accurately submitting your previous CEP credits.


Students should submit CEP events that have occurred since January 2014 online at: CEP events that occurred prior to January 2014 must be submitted as a written document and can be delivered to the Office of Student Development (first floor Merritt) or can be emailed to

Only events that are submitted online or in writing by December 3, 2014 will count in your CEP total which affects your ability to graduate.


You asked and we have listened! Students requested the ability to scan their cards at CEP events, much like the format of Journey credits, and we listened! Beginning in January, students will be able to swipe their cards at CEP events, but this transition means that ALL previous CEP credits must be submitted by December 3, 2014.

This change will not only help us to import data faster and more efficiently, but it will also benefit you. After this transition, you will not be required to submit an online form for every event. You will simply scan your student ID as you leave the CEP event.

Scanning at CEP events will begin in the Spring of 2015. All CEP credits are due by December 3, 2014.


All current traditional, full time students (including residents and commuter students) are required to turn in CEP credits by December 3, 2014.
