2016 Homecoming Schedule

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2016

12:00pm –  7th Annual Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament at Cobb’s Glen Country Club. Registration at 12noon. Lunch to be provided. Shotgun start at 1:00pm. 6:00pm–8:00pm –  AU Ducks Unlimited Banquet and Live Auction. There is a separate registration for this event. Adults $40 and students $25 (adult tickets include dinner, games and a one-year DU membership). Call Matt Harley at 803-640-2237 or visit www.ducks.org/south-carolina/events for tickets or info.

7:00pm; –  Coffee and Reminiscing – Reunion event for the Classes of 1965, 1966, and 1967 held in G. Ross Anderson, Jr. Student Center (Refer to separate invitation regarding this event.)

7:00pm –  Class of 2011 Reunion reception held in G. Ross Anderson, Jr. Student Center (Refer to separate invitation regarding this event.)

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2016

 8:00am – 11:00pm –  AU Trojan Transits available for transportation between the main campus and the athletic campus. For assistance, call 864-245-2041.

8:30—9:30am –  ON MAIN CAMPUS: Registration on the main level of the G. Ross Anderson, Jr. Student Center. (NOTE: Late registration will be at the Athletic Campus following the President’s Welcome & Special Ceremonies and Student Center Dedication Ceremony.)

8:30am–3:30pm –  Visit AU Outfitters (formerly the Bookstore)

9:30am –  President’s Welcome and Special Ceremonies in the theater of the G. Ross Anderson, Jr. Student Center. Special Recognition of Reunion Classes and the Golden Anchor Society.

10:30am –  Student Center Ribbon Cutting and Dedication

11:30am –  50th Reunion induction for Class of 1966 — to be held in the G. Ross Anderson, Jr. Student Center. (Members of the Golden Anchor Society are encouraged to join the celebration.) Special luncheon to follow ceremony.

11:00am-1:00pm –  AT THE ATHLETIC CAMPUS:  Late registration for Homecoming and Family Day guests.

11:00am–2:00pm –  AT THE ATHLETIC CAMPUS:  Trojan Talent Live on the main stage; games for all ages (inflatables, etc.).

11:00am-1:30pm –  AT THE ATHLETIC CAMPUS:  Alumni only: Alumni welcome area open. Limited number of 2016 Homecoming T-shirts will be available.

11:30am –  AT THE ATHLETIC CAMPUS:  Grady’s Great Giveaway. Enter to win a Yeti Cooler donated by Grady’s Great Outdoors.

11:30m–12:30pm –  AT THE ATHLETIC CAMPUS:  Faculty Meet and Greet. Visit with current and retired faculty members.

11:30am – 2:00pm –  AT THE ATHLETIC CAMPUS:  Class Reunions will be held for the members of the Classes of 1991, 2006, and 2011.

11:30am–1:30pm –  AT THE ATHLETIC CAMPUS:  7th Annual Trojan Barbeque Cook-Off. Sample entries by barbeque teams entered in this year’s competition. Lunch: Campus Dining will serve a BBQ lunch.

11:30am—1:30pm –  AT THE ATLETIC CAMPUS:  Student Alumni Association Silent Auction – benefitting the emergency needs of current students

11:30am-1:30pm –  AT THE ATHLETIC CAMPUS: AU School of Nursing Community Health Fair. Vital signs, BMI checks, Teddy Bear Clinic, First Aid Station

12:00–3:00pm –  AT THE ATHLETIC CAMPUS:  Limited “fair concessions” available with event ticket: cotton candy, funnel cakes, boiled peanuts

12:00pm –  ABNEY ATHLETIC CENTER: AU Volleyball vs Brevard.

1:00 & 3:30pm –  AU WOMEN’S SOCCER AND TROJANS SOCCER VS Mars Hill University at the Athletic Campus Soccer Field. (Between the games Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned.)

3:00pm-7:00pm –  Families are welcome to visit with their students during extended residence halls visitation.

7:30pm –  AU Playhouse of the South Carolina School of the Arts presents White Christmas in Henderson Auditorium. Tickets are $10. (Not included in Homecoming and Family Day ticket price.) Call 864-231-2080 or visit www.schoolofthearts.com for tickets.
