Why teach at AU?
Anderson University’s atmosphere lets me proceed with my philosophy of teaching experimental science through hands-on activities and discovery. Small-size lecture and laboratory groups, support of administration in equipping our labs with state-of-the-art instrumentation, and the enthusiasm and readiness of my colleagues to try something new are producing synergy, helping with challenges we are facing in higher education.

Was named Mobile Learning Innovator of the year for 2013-14 at AU.
How would you describe your classes to someone who has never attended one?
I challenge them to solve problems and think creatively about every new concept introduced in a lecture.

Dorota was born in Poland and lived under the socialist regime there until her early twenties. “Becoming an American citizen in 1977 opened the world for me. Since then I have traveled to over 40 countries worldwide.”
To encourage students to become involved and engaged her classes, she reminds them of the quote by Nobel laureate Linus Pauling: “Chemistry is not a spectator sport.”
She enjoys the one-on-one interactions with research students, taking them to conferences, “and hearing them brag about their work at AU.”
