Student Activities

Student Activities

The Student Activities hosts a number of events throughout the school year that are designed to bring the AU community together and create memories that will last far beyond a student’s college career. Whether riding the mechanical bull at Hootenanny, cheering on the Trojans in a free AU t-shirt, learning something new while watching a movie, shopping at the Andie Craft Fair- our festival for student makers, or watching fellow students showcase their talent at AU’s Got Talent, Student Activities has something for everyone!  We hope that you will join in on the fun and make the most of your college experience!

While our week-to-week events change from year-to-year, some of the events that we do are just too good not to repeat. Campus traditions are what keep our University alive. Here are some of the traditions that we love here in the Student Activities office:

Welcome Week

Beginning with New Student Move-In, this week is full of fun campus-wide events to help new students get to know each other and meet upperclassmen.

Homecoming Week

Usually in mid-October, Homecoming week kicks off with our famous Fall Festival and Homecoming Dance. The week wraps up on Saturday with Parent & Alumni Homecoming – a day of events and great BBQ.

Mr. AU Pageant

This traditional fall event highlights men on campus and their talent or lack thereof. You don’t want to miss this hilarious show!

Welcome Back Ice Cream Bash

There is no better way to welcome back students for the spring semester. Ice cream is served “slab style” with all the mix-ins.

AU's Got Talent

Held every spring, this event showcases a broad range of student talent. Acts audition to participate, and judges and the audience select winners.

Spring Fever Week

This week, usually held in early April, exists to help the campus community beat cabin fever while enjoying the beautiful South Carolina spring. Events, such as the Spring Fling Dance and Ooolabaloo Music Festival, take place all week long.

Student Appreciation Day

Held in late April, staff and faculty show our appreciation to you, the student. This event includes food, prizes, and other goodies that you won’t want to miss.
