Why teach at AU?

God has been calling me to teach in higher education since I became a nurse. I believe that he has given me the desire and ability to be successful in this endeavor. I love the faith-based environment at AU. It encourages me to be outspoken about my relationship with Jesus.

Places you've lived

Anderson, SC and Charleston, SC

What do you find most enjoyable about working at Anderson University?

The community of faculty and staff has been welcoming and supportive. The faith-based environment encourages me to be outspoken about my relationship with Jesus.

What I wish prospectives students knew about my discipline or careers in my discipline.

Nursing is a discipline rooted in service to others. Jesus demonstrated his perfect love for us through servanthood and sacrifice. It is a difficult, yet unimaginably rewarding discipline.

How would you describe your classes to someone who has never attended one?

You will learn about the nursing care of children in interactive and thought-provoking ways.

Whitney enjoys the welcoming and supportive community of faculty and staff at AU. She wishes prospective nursing students understand it is a discipline “rooted in service to others. Jesus demonstrated his perfect love for us through servanthood and sacrifice. It is a difficult, yet unimaginably rewarding, discipline.”
