Northeast Anderson Honors Chorus

Northeast Anderson Honors Chorus

Dr. Chris Hansen, Assistant Professor of Music Education at Anderson University, conducts the Northeast Anderson Honors Chorus. This event included approximately 150 auditioned singers from five area schools. Collaborating together to make this event a success were the music teachers from each elementary school: Dana Craft from Calhoun Academy of the Arts, Maricary Hansen and Jean Ann Rogers from Concord Elementary, Sydney Phillips and Ashley Wells from Midway Elementary, Richard Powell from Nevitt Forest Elementary, and Robin Locke from North Pointe Elementary. Dr. David Perry, Associate Professor of Music Education, with selected members of the West African Ensemble also collaborated with Dr. Hansen on two music selections. The inclusion of the Anderson University Western African Ensemble added to the energy and excitement of the event. Following the closing musical selection (Bonse Aba arr. by Victor Johnson) the audience erupted into a lengthy standing ovation! Bravissimo to the Northeast Anderson Honors Chorus for presenting an exceptional and inspiring performance!
