Anderson’s School of Nursing has the only cadaver lab in the state that’s designed exclusively for nursing students.

This means that as an AU nursing student, you’ll have a unique, inside look of how disease and illness affect people. Through study and dissection, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of anatomy and physiology, which will inform how you’ll plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients.

You’ll learn using the most sophisticated and advanced technology available to nursing students.

We’re the only school in the state that uses leading-edge technology LearningSpace, to record, archive, manage, and give you feedback on your progress—and personal learning style—as a nursing student. You’ll also learn to create and use Electronic Medical Records, a key tool in modern medicine. Even before your nursing courses, you’ll use an iPad to complete projects and get a closer look at science class dissections. In fact, when colleges ask how to integrate the iPad into learning, Apple sends them to AU.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art, full-body simulator lab.

In our five simulation rooms, you’ll gain vital practice: from mastering each step of a baby delivery, to giving emergency care to a car crash victim. The rooms—all equipped with 52-inch plasma screens—recreate medical-surgical, labor-delivery, pediatric, intensive care, and emergency rooms. Here, your nursing professors will observe you in realistic events that’ll prepare you for everyday experiences and emergencies you’ll encounter on the job.

We’ll give you a global view of nursing and ministry through nursing mission trips.

In your service at clinics, which may range from rural South Carolina to sugar plantations in the Dominican Republic, you’ll not only help patients, you’ll realize how nursing serves God and blesses people. Expect a heart transformation!

Our professors, who have practiced nursing for more than a combined 60 years, have the following expertise: psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, urgent care/ER, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Kidscare Pediatrics. Moreover, they work in local hospitals every week, so you’re assured to be learning today’s best practices.

Our numerous clinical training sites will give you a broad foundation of clinical experience.
