Fulbright Scholarships

AU is proud to assist students interested in applying for the Fulbright program. Receiving a Fulbright award is not only a high honor for the student selected but also for Anderson University.

Fulbright information for college juniors, seniors and graduates

Each year the US State Department sponsors U.S. students to study abroad for a full year after graduation. The Fulbright program is one of the most prestigious study abroad scholarships available to students. To find out more about Fulbright and how to apply visit http://us.fulbrightonline.org.  AU juniors, seniors and alumni are eligible to apply. The Fulbright program normally cover flights, housing, a living stipend and other costs. Each specific country and program has unique eligibility requirements.  Fulbright recipients travel upon graduation (not before completion of your undergraduate program at AU).  The Fulbright student program is normally 10 months to 12 months of research (research/study grant) or teaching English as a second language (ETA) in another country. Fulbright is an extremely competitive program so applicants should apply early. Normally students apply during the fall semester when they are a senior. The on campus deadline for Fulbright is September 15th. However, you should work on your application the summer before you apply and meet with a Fulbright program advisor at Anderson University, to help you with the application process.

Speak with the Anderson University’s Center for Global Engagement for application guidelines and assistance in selecting a program.  Fulbright recipients are highly sought by employers. Many become leaders in education, government, the arts, economics, the medical field, criminal justice, politics, and business.

Fulbright US/UK Summer Institute (for college freshman and sophomores)

The Fulbright US/UK Summer Institute is a special program to help students who want to study abroad for a summer in the United Kingdom. Students must have at least two years of university studies left to complete to be eligible. Through the Fulbright US/UK program, students who have no travel experience can apply to a summer program, which is fully or mostly covered by a Fulbright grant. (Scholarship and stipend depend upon the program students select.)  The Fulbright US/UK Summer Institute is extremely competitive program, so students are advised to apply early.  Visit https://fulbright.org.uk/our-programmes/undergraduate-and-pre-university-programmes/uk-summer-institutes/ for more information.
