Course Code: SPA 399, IS 399 or CON 399* (Choose one from IS 399 and CON 399. You cannot register for both.)

Course Description: This course will be hybrid. Students will be exploring the Spain historical context and cultural sights: art, literature, architecture, museums, every-day life, and popular customs. They will explore the city of Madrid, Ávila Toledo and Salamanca, its surrounding areas and sights of interest that they visit during the program. The experience will enrich, enhance students intercultural development as well as an academic commitment.  It will also open perspectives for their major fields and their lives.

Tentative Travel Dates: May 28th to July 6th

Price: 4950.00 (Does not include tuition and fees.) 

Housing: Local Homestays

Tuition and Fees: Does not include tuition and fees. The travel/course fee is added on to the SPAN 399 course. Students can take an additional IS 399 course while in Spain. The travel/course fee is a separate fee for the travel and students must also pay the tuition and fees for the course for the summer 7A semester. 

Financial Aid: Students should speak with financial aid about the possibility of using their federal aid for the summer. Financial aid counselors will help you determine any loan eligibility. Please contact the Financial Aid Office and then see a study abroad advisor in the International Programs Office after you meet with financial aid to review the total cost estimate for the program.

Please note that students cannot apply or use the AU Abroad scholarship for this departmental program. Students who are eligible for a pell grant for the summer, can apply for a Gilman Scholarship: Please note the deadline to apply for Gilman is March 5th.
