Welcome to Base Camp at Anderson University!

Base Camp Logo tealBefore mountain climbers begin their ascent to the summit of Mount Everest, they make a crucial first stop – Base Camp. At this first camp, they acclimate to the mountain conditions and altitude, check their supplies, and finalize mental preparations for the challenges ahead. A successful climb always begins with this first stop.

While attending Anderson is not climbing Mount Everest, the journey through college has many similarities with climbing a mountain. For some of you, this will be the beginning of your collegiate experience. Others may be joining AU as a transfer student. Some may live on campus while others may commute to campus – but all of you will gather at Base Camp to begin your journey at AU. We do this because, just as acclimating to conditions and finalizing preparations are important in a mountaineering expedition, these steps are essential for a successful journey at Anderson University. That’s why we have named our New Student Orientation “Base Camp”. This program serves as the first stop on your journey as a student at Anderson University.

We designed Base Camp for you.
We designed Base Camp to prepare you for the upcoming school year by providing information and connections that will support you during your climb through college. The schedule will be a mix of information from academics, campus and social life, along with lots of opportunities to meet your fellow classmates.

Additionally, you will quickly find that your successful journey is often the result of much hard work and the support of a great network of family and friends. For this reason, we invite parents to join you at Base Camp, where they will have the opportunity to ask questions and hear about the many services offered at AU.

We’ll see you on the summit.
